Itinerary

Upon arrival at Harbin Airport, meet your local guide and driver for a comfortable transfer to your hotel, where you’ll check in and rest for the night.

After breakfast we’ll head north of the Songhua River to the Harbin Siberian Tiger Park (东北虎林园) — the world’s largest conservation park for Siberian tigers. The park is home to nearly 1,000 purebred Northeast (Siberian) tigers of different ages.
Unlike a conventional zoo, visitors observe the animals from secure, cage-style sightseeing vehicles that allow tigers to roam in spacious, habitat-like enclosures. Watching these magnificent cats walk slowly, spring into action or sprint across the grounds is an unforgettable experience — and you’ll have plenty of photo opportunities. For a more hands-on encounter, guests may choose to feed the tigers (tiger feed is available at your own expense). The park also exhibits other big cats such as lions, ligers and leopards, offering a broader look at large feline species.

Next we travel to Sun Island (太阳岛), home of the Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo and a centerpiece of Harbin’s winter attractions. Stroll along paths framed by towering snow sculptures created by artists from around the world — from sweeping mountain scenes and realistic animals to whimsical castles and intricate character carvings. The detail work is astonishing: facial expressions, textures and tiny features often make the sculptures feel alive. Sun Island also offers a range of playful ice-and-snow activities suitable for all ages.

Optional: If you’re interested in polar wildlife, consider visiting Harbin Polarland (adjacent to Sun Island). As one of the world’s first polar theme parks, Polarland features polar bears, penguins, sea lions and seals. This visit is optional and requires an extra fee.

In the evening we’ll visit Ice and Snow World (冰雪大世界) — Harbin’s famed ice theme park. Wander through an illuminated wonderland built from tens of thousands of cubic meters of ice and snow: majestic ice castles, ornate bridges, life-like sculptures, creative modern scenes, ice bars and even restaurants made of ice. As night falls the park is transformed by colorful lighting, creating a truly magical atmosphere. You can also try park activities such as snow tubing, ice go-karting, ice biking and the thrilling super ice slide. The Snowflake Ferris Wheel provides panoramic views of the whole site, and seasonal events like the ice disco add extra festive fun.

Important note / Seasonal alternative
If Sun Island or Ice and Snow World are not open on your travel dates, we will substitute the Sun Island visit with Volga Manor (a Russian-style cultural park) in the morning, and in the afternoon visit the Siberian Tiger Park followed by an indoor Ice & Snow theme park. After activities, we return to your Harbin hotel.

Travel tips

  • Dress warmly: Layer clothing, and bring hat, gloves, scarf and thermal socks. Waterproof, insulated boots are highly recommended. Consider a face mask for wind protection.

  • Protect batteries & devices: Cold drains battery life quickly. Keep cameras and phones close to your body and bring spare batteries or a portable power bank.

  • Glasses wearers: Warm breath can fog glasses; you may prefer contacts for outdoor activities. Sunglasses are useful to reduce glare from sunlight on snow.

  • Best viewing time: Late afternoon allows you to enjoy both daylight sculptures and the evening light displays.

  • Expect queues: Popular attractions (e.g., the giant ice slide, Snow Ferris Wheel) can have long waits—plan accordingly during peak hours.
