Itinerary

Timed entry; unhurried climbs with view breaks; afternoon Jokhang; walk the Barkhor kora among pilgrims. Optional culture dinner show.

Explore the Dalai Lamas’ summer palace; 2–3h thangka workshop (outline/coloring) and keep your piece; ~15:00 attend Sera debates.

Morning Drepung academies and assembly hall; Tibetan Medicine Museum/clinic for pulse-diagnosis demo; late-day home visit—make momo, share stories, receive a blessing cord.

Drive via Gampa La pass viewpoint (prayer flags, sweeping lake view); lakeside stroll/photo & picnic (seasonal). Alternative (weather/road): Ganden monastery ridge kora.

Add Ganden kora + Namtso Lake long day (seasonal, 10–12h), or expand monastery/art time; or extend to Gyantse–Shigatse (if permits/time allow).

Frequently asked questions

A Tibet Entry Permit is required; we arrange it once you provide passport + valid China visa scans ~20–30 days in advance. Independent travel isn’t allowed—guide/vehicle are mandatory.

We move slowly, hydrate, avoid over-exertion, and can supply portable oxygen if needed. Consult your doctor if you have heart/lung conditions.

 Apr–Jun & Sep–Oct (clear views); Nov–Feb offers crisp skies and fewer visitors (colder); Jul–Aug is rainy season with afternoon showers.

No flash inside temples; some halls forbid photos; always ask before shooting people; drones require special permits—do not fly without authorization.

Vegetarian & mild menus can be arranged; try momo and Tibetan butter tea during the home visit.
